Context

We wanted one app for the things students check every week: grades, classes and who teaches them. Three of us built it over twelve weeks, between lectures.

Idea

Keep the phone simple and the server honest. I moved all the logic out of the React Native screens into a Spring Boot API, so the app only renders what the backend returns.

Craft

College email login, separate student and teacher modes, a teacher dashboard with class lists, and an H2 database seeded with demo classes so anyone can run it locally. CI builds both the app and the API.

Outcome

A working Android build with both modes, and a backend the next team can extend without touching the screens.
